Refined Glycerine

Refined Glycerine

  • Refined glycerine is the trivial name and the common term for Propane-1,2,3-triol.
  • A non-volatile and intensely hygroscopic (water-loving), and can be rinsed off any surface with ordinary water.
  • It’s odorless and colorless properties make it a versatile product applicable in many industries.
  • It is commonly used in personal care and cosmetics due to its ability to retain moisture.
  • Often added to foods to help oil and water-based ingredients mix, sweetening and moistening the final product.
  • Found in pharmaceutical products due to its non-toxic nature and is commonly added to soaps, candles, lotions, deodorants and makeup.
  • It can also typically used in the production of alkyd resins. Further technical uses are in the manufacture of paper, textiles and lubricants.
